Goblets

g10.jpg

Image below and left is the first goblet I turned using wood from the flagpole of my old school in Yorkshire.  The pole was given to me as the buildings were being demolished.  More recently I have favoured teh use of Yew because of the colour difference between sap wood and heart wood.  Most of them have had two captive rings which are given as wedding presents to symbol the bond between the partners.   They are give as decorative items rather than long term functional ones because of the toxicity of yew.
