Spanish tiles

The tiles came from Seville and I added surrounds in various woods. Corners were mitred with splines for extra strength.

Laser cut box

Plans downloaded from net - you can choose type of joint, size of joint and size of overall box. The accuracy of cutting is around 0.1mm which means the sides fit together very snugly. Downsides of laser cut are the charred cut and the limitation on thickness - this example was 3mm laser ply. You cannot use ordinary ply because of hazardous fumes given off by glue.

Stilts

For some girl guides. First versions were over engineered and heavy to the point that they were too heavy for some girls. These made lighter and had bits of cycle tyres on the ends for non-slip.

The laser cut is 0.15mm wide at best. To start with I expanded the inside veneer to compensate and ensure an accurate fit but I now don't bother as the gap is so small as to be not noticeable.
